A Classic General Store Vibe in Modern Branson
With its eye-catching red-and-white striped awning and bold signage, the Five & Dime General Store stands out beautifully along the Branson Landing boardwalk.
The store captures the spirit of traditional five-and-dime shops while serving today’s tourists, locals, and marina visitors. Whether you’re strolling before a show, enjoying lakeside dining, or docking at the nearby marina, this is the ideal spot to pop in for a quick browse or a fun treasure hunt. Most likely you will see things you haven't seen for a really long time!
The 5 & Dime Theme
When I was doing research for this article I saw several comments online where people were comparing this store to Dick's 5 & 10. That's like comparing apples to oranges. Both stores are nice, but very different. I visit both.
Once upon a time in America we had lots and lots of what were called five & dime stores. Most of them are long gone, having been swallowed up by the big box stores. I miss them.
What You’ll Find Inside
The Five & Dime General Store is truly a “one-stop shop” packed with variety:
- Branson Souvenirs & Gifts: T-shirts, postcards, hats, keychains, and Ozarks-themed collectibles — perfect mementos of your trip.
- Fun & Quirky Items: Metal Signs, snacks, toys, socks, desk supplies, and some very unique finds you didn’t know you needed.
- Beach & Lake Gear: Items tailored for visitors enjoying Lake Taneycomo and the Landing’s waterfront activities.
- Cold Drinks: They have several refridgerated machines filled with a variety of drinks.
- Toiletries and Pharmacy: Pain relievers, toothbrushes, cough drops, etc — things you keep in your medicine cabinet at home.
Prices are fairly reasonable, making it easy to grab thoughtful gifts for friends and family back home or treat yourself to something fun.
